Spend three packed days at the Chimmony Wildlife Sanctuary discovering the area and interacting with the Malaya people of the region. The Sanctuary, located close to Thrissur, is eighty-five sq. km. in area and has a diverse population of birds, butterflies and animals.
The verdant forests that comprise the Sanctuary are filled with tropical evergreens, semi-evergreens and moist deciduous trees indigenous to Southern India. There is a 15 sq. km. area of reservoir within the Sanctuary that is beautiful to behold. You will be shown around the place by eco-guides from the local indigenous Malaya community. Camp with them in the wilderness and listen to these ancient people about the concern for these jungles and their role in protecting them.
