Kalarippayattu, a martial art form of Kerala is possibly one of the oldest fighting systems in existence. It includes strikes, kicks, grappling, preset forms, weaponry and healing methods. This martial art form is indigenous to the Southern Indian State of Kerala and legend has it that it was created by the warrior saint Parasurama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

On the tour you will be able to interact with masters of the ancient tradition, visit places such as temples and homes that have been immortalized by the Vadakkan Pattukal (collection of ballads), and watch Kalaripayattu performed in a real Kalari. For the romantic in you, the charming heroic stories of various heroes and heroines are retold over and over in folklore and the ballads. A magical tour, there is much you will learn about the art, weaponry, legends and stories that are associated with Kalaripayattu.

• Martial Art Tour introduces you to to the origin, various techniques used, rituals, training stages, equipments, folklore and principles of marma chikitsa.
• Watch Kalarippayattu in a real Kalari where training is imparted on a regular basis.
